Plastic rules.
Garmont plastic telemark boots are lightweight, warm, and waterproof.
They have toasty, comfortable, removable inner boots for quick and easy
drying. The shells close with quick, glove-friendly buckles. And with
Garmont Nexus technology, they have the forward flex of broken-in leather
with the security and lateral control of an alpine boot.
What is superior about our plastic technology: - Nexus over-injection
for sensitivity and edge control - Proper flex-zone location for comfort
and rear ski stability - Different stiffness of plastic dialed for the
functions of different components - Pebax for comfort and flexibility
in a wide range of temperatures
Nexus technology:
Garmont's Nexus technology means an easy forward flex with awesome torsional
rigidity. Through an over-injection process, two separate injections of
different stiffness' of Pebax are permanently fused together. Softer Pebax
in the flex zone and stiffer Pebax injected around this flex zone. No
break-in, no toe-pinch

Flex zone location:
Garmont boots have been painstakingly designed to locate the forward flex
correctly, over the metatarsals. Through flex and flex placement, Garmont
plastic boots have superior rear-ski control, keeping the forefoot firmly
and comfortably planted on the rear ski. Without toe pinch.
Four different plastics:
We use 4 degrees of stiffness of plastic: two in the double-injected foot,
another in the cuff, and another in the tongue. Through fine-tuning and
testing we program stiffness or softness into the boot to optomize the
function of that component. The result is a superbly balanced flex.
Pebax:
Garmont boots are manufactured of Pebax, the lightest, least temperature-
sensitive plastic available for injection molding. Pebax is more expensive
than traditional Alpine-boot materials; it's the only plastic that we
have found that can maintain its sweet forward flex on the coldest days.

Fit and comfort:
Fit and comfort are critical. Garmont fit elements: - Toe room for uninhibited
forward flex, and warmth - Superior rear-foot control and ankle support
for secure ski control - No forefoot hardware to pinch the foot and conduct
cold - Proper buckle placement for foot stability with free ankle flex
- Specific men's and women's lasts for comfort and performance - Our last
is telemark specific, not a running shoe or alpine boot adaption. - Heel
pockets are appropriately narrow and supportive to anchor when flexing
forward or skiing parallel
Touring:
Garmont boots are lightweight, comfortable, and secure for hiking or skinning
as well as skiing down. Our plastic boots have these versatile features:
- A free-hinging walking mode for a more natural stride - "Memory"
buckles that don't lose their adjustment when opened - Shell design facilitates
easy entry and exit - Lightweight waterproof shell for warm, dry tours
