Garmont's new Masterlite and Literider introduce the lightest side of performance. Enjoy the freedom to climb fast and light, with uncompromising control on the down. These boots define a new category of boots that does not abandon downhill control to achieve their ultra-light weight.
Liberating lightness.
We started with a study of the forces exerted on a ski boot during both climbing and skiing. We lightened the boot wherever possible, reinforcing areas of stress to maintain solid performance. The result is a unique spider-web-like structure, the Garmont Webframe, a design that reduces the shell to its critical elements that maintain a solid structure with ultra-light weight.
The Masterlite and Literider's sole design is stiff, springy, and supportive. Its torsional rigidity is superior to bellows systems for the edge control, binding function, and the downhill performance crucial to ski mountaineering. The sole's solid platform has a slight rebound to aid striding onto your front ski, keeping your hips high and moving forward for the longest stride. With this sole design you can achieve a longer stride than a flexible sole, which drops your hips back as you flex the bellows.
